Why is Your Partnership SO Important?
The Humane Society for Logan County is an Open Intake No Kil shelter, meaning we don’t turn away animals that are sick, old or in need of special care, and we never euthanize for space. We believe that every pet in Logan County deserves the chance to have a happy life in a loving adoptive home and that is what we strive every day to do – give these animals a chance.
Here are just a few of the cats and dogs who are alive and loved today because of Charitable Sponsors like you.
Angel
Abandoned by her previous owners, Angel had an infection in her eye for so long that it caused permanent damage to her vision. Though she’s now blind in one eye, her new family love her too much to care that she’s not perfect, and Angel is living a heavenly new life!
Wilde
Was brought to us by a kind man who found him stuck inside a vehicle. Hungry, dehydrated and scared, this tiny 7 week old kitten also had a prolapsed bowel that required immediate surgery for him to survive. Wilde received the care he needed and is now thriving after being adopted by the man who originally brought him in.
Lady
We pulled Lady from the County’s Animal Control shelter after discovering she had been surrendered there with a broken jaw. X-rays showed this sweet pup had actually been shot in the face. It took three surgeries to remove all of shattered jaw and bullet fragments. In spite of losing everything – her home, her babies and her health – Lady never lost her spirit and is now living a wonderful life with a family who adore her completely!
Abel
Picked up by Animal Control, this poor pup was not only starving, but had a partially-healed broken leg, likely from being hit by a car a week or two earlier. After several surgeries and a long recovery period in foster, Abel is now living a great life in his new home!
Chance
Arrived in such bad shape we didn’t know if she would survive the night. About 5 weeks old, her eyes and ears were sealed shut with mites and infection. She was half the weight she should have been, covered in fleas and missing fur. Four weeks later, after incredible care from our dedicated staff, Chance was still experiencing some health problems she would likely have for the rest of her life, and adopted by a couple committed to caring for her just as she is.
Lana
Pregnant, starving and sick, Lana gave birth to 5 kittens within 24 hours of entering the shelter. Only three of her babies survived, but they are all growing and looking healthy. Now that she is safe and getting the food and medication she needs, Lana is looking much healthier too! She and her kittens will be ready to find their new homes at the beginning of July.
Roxi
Was surrendered by a man who was obviously lying to us about her history. She was filthy, missing half her fur, terrified and very aggressive. It took almost a year of dedicated and consistent work by our amazing staff, but Roxi is now a happy, healthy, well- balanced girl who is ready to find her forever home.
How Are Funds Spent?
We do everything we can to keep our administrative and fixed costs as low as possible. Every dollar we take in goes toward feeding, helping and caring for the animals.
Over 67% of our funds are spent on Animal Care, Veterinary Care, Vaccines, Rabies and Spay-Neuter surgery.

How is the Humane Society Funded?
The Humane Society is NOT funded by Logan County or the Fiscal Court.
In order to continue our work we must raise 95% of our budget through adoptions, individual donors and Annual Partners like you.
Each month costs us, on average, $10,000 to operate. Without your generous partnership we wil not survive, and neither wil thousands of the animals we care for each year.
